Designed for qualified nurses wishing to upgrade from a Diploma in General Nursing to a Bachelor’s Degree.
Certificate V in Health Care Assistant
Ideal for students wishing to begin a career in healthcare.
Applicants must:
• Have taken five (5) BGCSE subjects, including Mathematics and English.
• Obtain a minimum Grade D in English Language.
• Obtain a minimum Credit in Mathematics.
• Obtain at least a Grade C in any two of:
o Biology
o Chemistry
o Physics
o Combined Science
o Double Science
• Other relevant subjects such as Computer Studies, Food & Nutrition and English Literature may also be considered.
• Applicants with A-Level Science qualifications may receive exemptions where applicable.
Applicants must submit:
• Diploma in General Nursing
• Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Botswana (NMCB) or equivalent
• Certified Academic Transcript
• Certified National Identity Card (Omang) or Passport
• Current Curriculum Vitae (CV)
• Two Reference Letters (including one from an immediate supervisor)
• Certified BGCSE Certificate or equivalent
Entry level is determined through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and GUC regulations.
Applicants must have:
• BGCSE (or equivalent) with 32 points
• At least a Grade D in:
o English
o Mathematics
o Biology
o Chemistry
o Physics or Double Science
Relevant healthcare work experience is an added advantage.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Credit Accumulation & Transfer (CAT) are also available where applicable.
