Why does the counselling need a motto of its own that aligns with the university motto?
The counselling office may have its own motto to express its specific role while still reflecting the university’s wider values and identity. University counselling centres often align their mission and values with the institution’s mission, because they serve the same student community and support the university’s broader goals.
A separate motto can also make the office’s purpose clearer and more memorable. It helps students immediately understand that the office is focused on care, guidance, well-being and support, while still staying connected to the university’s main message.
In practice, the motto works as a short statement of identity. It can strengthen belonging, communicate shared values and show that the counselling office is part of the university’s commitment to student success and holistic development.
